Just came across this site by accident, and hope it is still open! I
came to America in 1958, and have been here since that time, with only
two visits back to Britain, and only one of those to Scotland, in 1972
and 1980. Didn't know how to make contact with any ARAians at those
times. am hoping I can come back for a visit this or next year, all
being well, and would love to have contact with some of you! I heard of
you through Eve Freund, who sadly passed away last year. Get back to me

Have some very good photographs. I remember my schooldays vividly and am
now in touch with a few of my primary schoolmates when I attended
Melville Street Primary School before moving up to ARA. Eileen Shaw that
was, Rena Howie, Muriel Edmiston, Noreen Webster and a couple more. We
meet every 6 to 8 weeks or so for lunch and have a great chat about our
schooldays. Great to reminisce. I had a great friend in Helen Simpson
but unfortunately she is no longer with us.

HI, I just received your e-mail Deana.Sorry to hear that the website is
closing down.I was able to contact several old friends around the
world.I actually got to meet Archie Begg,in Houston,Texas.I met up with
him again last month,at the North American Rangers Supporters
Association,in Las Vegas. Thanks for all the work that you put into the
website.I even found a photo of myself,that I hadn't seen for a long

Lol. Im 12. Dont think any of you lot will know any teachers now! I left
Pollokshields Primary last year. Im now in Bellahouston Academy,
struggling to cope with all the racism. Primary were the days! If you
want any information on how to contact the headteacher (Mrs Sutherland)
just email me, Ill pop in the school and ask for an interview or
something. By the way, out of curiosity, were there lots of gang
rivalrys and fights back then? Thanks Sirs and Sirettes! lol

I played on the rugby team with Doug Birrell(sp?) and was the Junior
Sports champion in 1958 Wee Wab (hmm) was our Science Teacher and Irene
Edwards I had a terrible crush on. Bob Downie was also in my class. Mr.
Bell was the Gym teacher. Mr Caulfield was the Headmaster during my time
any memories?

Ilived in Watt st and attended Scotland ST school before going to ARA

Hi David, Yes, I noticed that, and advised the Mitchell almost two years
ago. Seems they haven't done anything about it, as yet.

I'm glad to see you have a link to Virtual Mitchell, a site I enjoy, BUT
am I the only person to notice that they have the pictures of Albert
Drive attached to the captions for Melville Street and vice versa? My
teachers were Miss Neilson then Miss Lamont until I left to go to
Hutchie. People I remember, whose names don't seem to have cropped up on
the site, are Margaret McKinnon (emigrated to ?Canada) Keith Robb (moved
away and had a brother Hugh), Bruce Pirie, Raymond Wolfson (went to
Kelvinside I think), Charles Crombie whose parents lived abroad and who
lived with his grandmother who had an apartment in Haggs Castle, Jean
Hogg, Fay Lamont, Stuart Dunley (who had a brother Glen). David
