My paternal grandfather was Kenneth Chisholm
from Barbaraville Scotland, Rose Cottage. He came to the US on a steamer
at the age of 15 as I was told and came to the Boston Mass. area where he
worked as first a janitor, then a sales man and eventually owner of
Sparrow Chisholm Company, a Wholesale Drygoods Company. He was a convert
to the catholic faith from Presbytarian. I do not know any more about his
background, he came here in the late 1800's and passed away in the early
40's. He had 7 children, Harold, Viola, Chester Elmer, my dad Ernest,
Albert and Kenneth Jr. Only Albert , the youngest is still alive and has
recently made a trip to his father's homeland. All the children stayed in
the Boston area.
