Mini Biographies of Scots and Scots Descendants

My name is Vincent Waldo McIntyre. I live in a small town in North Georgia called Dahlonega. My father is Virgil Wayne McIntyre born and raised in South Georgia. My mother is Sylvia Jane Thomas, born in Alabama and raised in S. GA. I don't know too much about my family's history. I just started researching my name. My Grandfather ( father's side ) is Neil Waldo McIntyre. I'm not sure where he was born at but for as long as I've been alive, he's lived in a town in South Georgia called Fitzgerald. I know that he was in the Army Air Corp and served in WWII as a radio operator on a bomber and was shot down over Germany and became a P.O.W. And I have also just found out that he may have played for a minor league baseball team for either the Reds or the Redsox before WWII and because of injuries suffered, was not able to continue. I'm not sure, but I believe his father's name was also Neil. I'm not sure on that one, though.
