The families that I am researching are the Kay and Stewart. My
grandmother, Helen Barr Kay b.1879 in Campsie d.1918 Republic City, KS,
USA. She was the daughter of Aaron Kay b. 1835 in Ireland, and Mary
Stewart. Mary Stewart was born 21st June 1840, the daughter of John
Stewart Clachan and Helen Barr.
The Stewarts I have as far back as existing
records go to an entry in the parochial records of Campsie which is dated
1714 "July the last sabbath 1714 John Stewart and his spouse ....in
Woodhead land had their child baptized called Alexander. Witnesses........Umphra......
So far as the Clans go, I have claimed Davidson, but could be mistaken.
If anyone is seeking descendants of these people, I would be glad to share
my Gedcom files.
Any assistance in tracing the Kays into Ireland would be greatly
appreciated.
