A rich Scottish borgemaestare (mayor)
in Sweden who led the deputation to welcome the king and queen on their
entry into Stockholm in 1593. The Blasieholmen, a broad peninsula facing
the royal palace in Stockholm on which the National Museum and other
public buildings stand, was named for him.
