Alastair's Holiday around Pitlochry
Spending time in Glen Lyon

Glen Lyon is the next glen over from Rannoch and some 5 miles from Aberfeldy.  It is said to be the Longest, Loneliest and Lovelies glen in Scotland.

I started out to explore it on a pretty dull Saturday and completed my visit on a sunny Sunday 15th November 2003 and here is what I saw...

I left Kinloch Rannoch and first stopped to see how the demolition of the Hotel was coming on and then thought I'd show you what the skies were like before making my way to Glen Lyon.

Now on the road towards Aberfeldy and Glen Lyon

And now turning onto the road towards Glen Lyon

And now we turn into Glen Lyon and the first view as we enter the glen

I plan to just take lots of pictures as I motor along the road so you can see the glen as I progress through it so hope you enjoy the trip :-)

I can well imagine just how beautiful this glen would be in the Summer or Autumn instead of mid November but even so it is quite impressive

WOW What a close up!
