Alastair's Holiday around Pitlochry
Trip to Grangemouth, Stirling and the Ochil Hills

Today was mostly about doing business as I needed to get to my bank in Grangemouth and do various other personal things for my trip to the USA.  Rained most of today but I did try and take some photographs as Stirling is only around 1.5 hours from Pitlochry so a day out in Stirling is certainly an obvious trip.

As you can see this was not a very nice day so this was about the best I could do to get pictures of Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument

And after taking the picture of the Wallace visitors centre it was off to the Ochil Hills

So this is us through the four main hillfoot towns of Menstrie, Alva, Tillicoultry and Dollar

And these last few pictures are of Dollar Academy where I used to go to school and of the old Dewar House where I was a border for some seven years. That's the dark stone house towards the centre right of the picture.  It's since been sold and is now a bed and breakfast

And these final three pictures are me having a bar lunch at the Leapark Hotel in Grangemouth with Ranald McIntyre and David Bolton

Thought I'd just include this picture of the Forth Rail Bridge that was sent into me by John Henderson
