Cupmarked rock
Often associated with or carved on recumbent
group within stone circles. Portable cupmarked stones were assumed of sacred origin,
judging by the number which were overlaid with early cross-incised carvings in 8th &
9th centuries

Dupplin Cross East face, prior to its removal from a hillside
setting above Forteviot in Strathearn. It now stands within the Museum of Scotland as a
