Sing Loud A Song Of Auchendennan

(Loch Lomond, Scotland)

A parody song composed by John Henderson on the 24thof April, 2015
to Jimmy MacFarlane's playing of Sing Us A Song Of Bonnie Scotland

Let's sing loud a song of Auchendennan
Any old song at all
For round a bright campfire
We were a happy choir
Together we sure had a ball
If you camped at Duck Bay then made Inchmoan next day
Wasting time it's true
You'll recall the pub at Rowardennan
Where tall fir trees and wild flowers grew

Oh let us sing here-and-now of Loch Long padd'ling
Splashing both aft and fore
Next day us scaling 'Jean'
When only Bruce was keen
Others frightened to the core
Soon some took the path down and others the scree down
To have a cup of tea
Aye a must for dry Outward-Bounders
And all PE lads you would agree
