Lyrics composed by
John Henderson on the 26th of July, 2012,
to a Scottish waltz called, 'Memories
Of Buckhaven'.
Brief Introductory Music ....
When I... hear waves lapping the seashore;
When I... smell the tang of the ocean;
When I... taste its salt on my tongue;
All these recall fine days in the sun.
The times when we all swam together,
Then dried off and had a good blether,
Downed hot tea and 'chittery' bites ....
All of these being teenage delights.
The rocks down at Roome Bay, and its safe beach where all could
play,
Seemed like a heav..-en on earth .. to all kids on holiday;
Folks came, from far and near.., to relax o'er there each year,
Where they'd bathe, paddle or sail.. nearby Roome Bay's quaint
village Crail.
There in most far-flung Fifeshire, Crail's photogenic harbour
Still shelters boats, and fisher's nets, that once caused bizz
and stir there;
South from the pier-end some days, the 'Isle of May' you may spy
Out in the Forth, if there's no haar telling that rain is nigh!
When I... hear waves lapping the seashore;
When I... smell the tang of the ocean;
When I... taste its salt on my tongue;
All these recall fine days in the sun.
The times when we all swam together,
Then dried off and had a good blether,
Downed hot tea and 'chittery' bites ....
All of these being teenage delights.
