[Mr Eaves Dropper sings to himself ....]

They gaed aff an mairrit suin
In the wee kirk doon the toon,
An in twa years they'd twa bairns, anither boon,
Ay thur howpin an ilk's wiss, brocht bliss aa roon;
An nae ne'er a grumpy froon,
The twins hud them ow'r the mune;
Baith sae bricht an frisky
Bit ne'er ower plisky
Whilk aye plees'd Dan an June.

They gaed aff an mairrit suin
In the wee kirk doon the toon,
An in twa years they'd twa bairns, anither boon,
Ay thur howpin an ilk's wiss, brocht bliss aa roon;
An nae ne'er a grumpy froon,
The twins hud them ow'r the mune;
Baith sae bricht an frisky
Bit ne'er ower plisky,
Whilk aye plees'd Dan an June.
