Victorian Terra Cotta Pots |
 Buy some terra cotta flowerpots with
smooth sides and spray them inside and out with a coat of varnish. Use
white glue to glue Victorian cutouts onto them, pictures from magazines
or flower catalogues, whatever will go with your gift recipient’s
décor or interests. With a sponge or crumbled up newspaper, use acrylic
craft paints to sponge gold metallic paint on the pot. After that layer
has dried, you may sponge another color on, if you desire. When this has
dried, spray the pot outside with spray varnish and let dry completely.
Using a fine sandpaper, lightly sand the surface. Spray on another coat
of varnish. These pots may be filled with potpourri, bath salts and
brushes, homemade cookies or candies, or may be used as planters for
herbs or ivy. |
