village of Cowie is located five miles to the east of Stirling. Cowie is
one of the group of villages known collectively as the Eastern Villages.
The Eastern Villages all have a historical coal mining background.
The
population of Cowie for the area covered by the new Bannockburn ward is
approximately 2200.
