It was one of those
hot, humid, summer nights. It was even hot inside Honey’s,
the bear’s, cave. She couldn’t sleep. She tossed and turned.
It was too hot to sleep!
Honey went outside,
hoping there was a breeze blowing so she could cool off. She
sat on a boulder and looked up into the dark sky. She could
hear crickets chirping and frogs croaking. There were a lot
of stars shining. The moon was bright too.
Honey started counting
the stars. Her eyes started drooping. She kept counting,
970, 971, 972….and was soon so tired that she lay down on
the ground and fell asleep, even though it was just too hot
to sleep!
