A Bigger House

A Bigger House

There once was a woman who lived in a boot,

With a bunch of cats and an owl that hoots,

A few dogs that barked and some bears that growled

And one lone coyote that often howled.

“There’s not enough room!” The woman often cried.

“If I want a breath I have to go outside!”

There were bears in the trees and cats on the door

And ten little bunnies lying around on the floor.

One morning she woke up and her house was too quiet.

“Maybe they’re all asleep. No, I don’t buy it.”

But when the woman checked all of them were asleep,

So she tiptoed around, not making a peep.

Her heart filled with love as she moved from room to room,

Sweeping and cleaning with her mop and her broom.

And for the first time she realized that she was happy the way things were,

With all the little ones living with her.

From that day on, she didn’t whine any more.

She loved living in a boot with ten bunnies on the floor.
