You'll need:
- 2 lg. apples
- 1/4 c. apple juice or apple cider
- 1/4 c. maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Use the apple corer, with the help of an
adult, to remove the core from each apple. Place the apples in a small
microwave-safe dish. Pour the apple juice and maple syrup over the
apples and sprinkle the cinnamon on top. Cover the baking dish with
plastic wrap. Place the baking dish in the microwave. Cook the apples on
HIGH for about 4 minutes. (If your microwave doesn’t have a turntable,
turn the dish 1/2 turn after 2 minutes. Then cook for 2 minutes longer.)
Use oven mitt to remove the dish from the microwave. Let stand (covered)
for 3 minutes before serving. Carefully remove the plastic wrap. Place
an apple in a small dish, and spoon some of the cooking syrup over the
top. |
