Krafts and Kooking for Kids Korner
Ocean Drum

You'll need:
  • A metal pie plate
  • Construction paper
  • Tape
  • Beads or dry beans

Lay the pie plate face down on construction paper and trace a circle around it. Cut the circle out. Fill the pie plate with several handfuls of beads or dry beans, enough for them to move around easily. Then tape the construction paper around the top of the pie plate to seal. If you slowly move the drum it sounds like ocean waves. Of course, you can also be much noisier with this drum if you wish!
