Today I took up Will's
offer to take me up into the hills in his Jeep and so I managed to get
some more scenes of the area around where I am staying...
Ah.. a little picture of the Kurt, the happy
looser of the shot glass checkers game that I took last night. This is
where instead of normal checkers you get shot glasses filled with a little
of what you fancy :-)
This was us at the entrance to the hollow
where we to take the road up to the top which you can see in the next
picture
That's Will's Jeep and one of the folk that we
met at the top
If you look carefully at the larger picture
you'll see some interesting draining going on. I know there was a
lot of strip mining going on here but this looked to be more drainage for
irrigation purposes. I'd like to find out a lot more about the many
trails, like how they were made and why.
Just trying to give you some idea of the
trails we were travelling on
Even here this looks to be a man made trail
now covered in turf.
You can see that the spirits and sprites are
out and about over Will and his Jeep!
You sure need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get
around these trails!
And this is back at the hollow having arrived
safely thanks to Will's excellent driving :-)
Thought I'd also include two pictures of Will
in the Army
A formal picture in his dress uniform
And Will standing in front of his tank in Iraq |
