SYDSERF, a surname derived from St. Serf. The only surviving bishop in the Scottish Episcopal Church at the Restoration was named Thomas Sydserf, He was at one time bishop of Brechin, and afterwards of Galloway, from which see he was removed by the authority of the General Assembly of 1638, and excommunicated.
