A reunion of the Y.N.A. was
held on 3rd March 1996 at the "Bull and Bush" pub in Lothian
Road, Edinburgh, in a last minute substitution, because of building works,
for our original meeting place the "Melville Lounge", Stafford
Street.
It celebrated the
anniversary of our foundation in 1936 and was a reason to meet comrades of
old, of whom we were able to muster six, Frank Yeaman, lain Haig, Stewart
Maxwell, Stuart Govan, Andrew McClelland and Tom Maxwell, with guest of
honour, Dr. Robert McIntyre. Two others could unfortunately not be
present. Bob Pringle and Hamish Russell.
This was indeed a
sentimental journey as some of us had not met for nigh on sixty years.
After three hours of
reminiscences over a few drinks, biscuits and cheese, it was found that
the old bonds still existed, and it was pledged that we would meet again
in the not too distant future.
