Fallbrook Farm Heritage Site
Update 29

Oral History Gathering on 29th November 2009

I attended this gathering mainly to get some photos of the people involved but also to take a few pictures of the Fallbrook Farm.  I arrived a touch late as my GPS system decided not to talk to me and so I went flying by the exit off the 401.  Had to stop and activate the speaker and so as I'd missed the turning I got the scenic route back to my destination.

When I arrived everyone was sitting down to a light lunch and so I very much enjoyed a hearty bowl of soup, some excellent sandwiches and some desert and fruit and enjoyed a wee blether with folk at my table.

It was then onto all the activities that were organized and this included the handing out of a DVD on the Oral History Project arranged by the University of Guelph. Many gave wee talks and lots of reminisces of days gone by.

A video was taken of the event by Sandy and one of the extended family who as it happens helps to organize the Fergus Highland Games.

Sandy handed out a flyer to everyone which was double sided and here it is for you to read here...

And now here are some of the pictures I took and I might add that if you click on any of the pictures a much larger version will appear which should be of sufficient size to get a good print. Also, if anyone can supply the names of the people in these pictures, please email me and I'll add them in.

And so after all the talks and reminisces and the sing along it was onto Fallbrook through what turned into a misty day with quite heavy rain.

And so it was time to head back to Chatham having had a most enjoyable day.
