Poetry of 2006/07 by Donna Flood
Rain

Rain on the tin roof.
Rain on blades so aloof.
Rain slides down a pear tree.
Rain splashes on my kid’s knee.
Rain melts away the dust.
Rain settles where it must.
Rain has a way with me
Rain sets my mind free.
Rain sometimes makes me akin to feel
Rain like those ancient before flood’s wheel.
Rain, you cool the burning earth.
Rain to greenery you give birth.
Rain I let you splash my arm?
Rain, Rain, Rain, what is the harm?
Rain you weakly cluster.
Rain is that all you can muster?
Rain in drops to many to could.
Rain and then it is for flood’s would.
Rain a new suspicion I have of you then.
Rain I know you must stop and when?
