Have attached an article for you on
reopening of restored Carnegie Free Library Thames NZ and the new
Heritage & Genealogy Centre The Treasury now its home. Held last
Saturday.
Think would be of great
interest to Scots around the world because it is a Carnegie Library kept
and restored. The Scots who came to Thames - some settling here. The
Genealogy and Heritage facility will be a great help to those looking
for Scottish Ancestors who came here in the gold mining & timber felling
days. The amount of iron & steel that came to this area for railways,
tramways mining equipment saw milling equipment, steamer boilers, etc.
from England and America.
