The first bagpipe competition, 17 bands were participating , had been taken place in Bokrijk in 1986.

The following years we were expanding this one day event into the Solo Competition, the Highland Games and the Highland Dancing , spreading complete over two days!

A lot of circumstances forced us to change location, Bokrijk, Hengelhoef, Molenheide, Kapermolen and again Bokrijk!

After the restoration of the Landkommendary in 1994, became Alden Biesen our ‘home’!

Year after year we were expanding the program. Children animation, sheep drifting, the Scottish Market, the folk performances give the finishing touch of the program.

In 2003 we have organised the European Champignon ship, that was a tribute and at the same time an admission because of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association.

From 2007 we add the Friday evening and so now you get three days of all kind of stuff about Celtic Culture, situated on one location!

The Scottish Weekend is completely recreation for the family, the perfect trip for young and old.
