Herbs
Hyssop
by Terry Cochrane

HYSSOPHYSSOP – Hyssopus officinalis
Forms of this plant are common throughout N. America and Europe.

Folk remedies use hyssop as a sedative and decongestant/expectorant. The herb is widely used for bronchitis and non-chronic asthma. It’s very safe to use and does not cause photosensitivity as many remedies tend to do. If taking a liquid extract, use 2-4ml per day. If a tea infusion, no more than two cups per day (and use honey to sweeten!).
