Gardening in America
Back Porch Gardening

by Nancy Fletcher

A friend gave me a sprig of a geranium couple years ago. It wintered over just outside the kitchen window on the back porch. After we put it on the front patio the weakly looking little thing grew in a robust way. There was some trouble dragging it back to the porch and the thought was that it might not survive since the pot was too heavy to lift up close to the warm windows. Here it thrived just outside the
sliding glass doors.

The potting soil from Lowes must be the secret because I've done little else except to water. To move it back to the front when it warms up will require using the moving dolly again but it is possible.

This is from the University of Ohio and has some very good tips on growing Geraniums:
