1 lb. lean chuck
1/2 lb. pork sausages
Flour
2 c. tomato juice
2 bouillon cubes or beef extract
4 medium to large potatoes
1 apple
1 onion
salt and pepper
Cut chuck in cubes and sausages in half. Dredge meat in flour. Heat tomato juice and
dissolve bouillon cubes in it. Peel and slice potatoes. Core and slice apple (peel and
all). Slice onion. Arrange layers of meat, potatoes, apple and onion in a casserole,
sprinkling each layer lightly with salt and pepper. Pour hot tomato juice over all. Cover
tightly and bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Serves 4 to 6. This recipe is from
