8 med macintosh apples peeled and cored (whole)
1/2 c sugar
2 TBSP cinnamon
pie crust rolled out to 8-6" circles
4 tsp butter or margerine
Place cored apple in the circle of the 6" pie crust, put 1/2 tsp of butter or
margerine in the hallowed out center of the apple and sprinkle cin/sugar mixture over
apple then cover with shell by drawing to the top of the apple and pinching it together.
Sprinkle lightly with sugar. Place each dumpling side by side in a baking dish.
Cinnamon Sauce:
One bag of Red Hot candies and 1/4 c water
melt in a double boiler. Pour cinnamon sauce into baking dish. Cover Baking dish with
Aluminum Foil. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
Serve fresh out of the oven with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Variation: You can also whisk in all the chocolate then grate fresh nutmeg over whipped
cream.
