Alistair,
Here is a wedding announcement for you. As you know, my family comes from
the Carmichael area of Lanarkshire, and Jim was born in Larkhall,
Lanarkshire, near Hamilton, less than 20 miles from Carmichael.
Jim's grandfather, John McLeod from Dunoon, was a drum major in the Argyll
and Southern Highlanders and led the combined Scottish pipe bands from
Aldershot in 1940, where he was presented to King George VI and Queen
Elizabeth.
Jeanette descends from the Carmichaels whose current Chief is Richard
Carmichael of Carmichael, 30th Chief of the Name and 26th Baron.
