Day 1.
Mo’s Sort of Skewed Wisdom: A backward poet
writes inverse.
Mo’s Favorite News
Story from 2003: In Modesto, California, a would-be robber was arrested
for trying to hold up a Bank of America branch without a weapon. The man
used a thumb and forefinger to simulate a gun. Unfortunately, he failed
to keep his hand in his pocket.
One of our Colquitt
County First Grade teachers gave each of her students the first half of a
well-known proverb and asked them to come u p with the remainder of the
proverb. It’s amazing that these were done by first graders as their
insight will surprise you!
The pen is mightier
than the…..pigs.
Mo’s Wisdom:
Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals
and dreams you’re seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the
turtle, it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.
Day 2.
Mo’s Sort of Skewed
Wisdom: A man’s home is his castle, in a manor of speaking.
Mo’s Favorite News
Story from 2003:On Lake Isabella, located in the high desert, an hour east
of Bakersfield, California, some folks new to boating, were having a
problem with their new boat. No matter how they tried, they couldn’t get
their boat going. It was sluggish in every maneuver no matter how much
power was applied. After about an hour, they putted to a nearby marine,
thinking someone there could tell them what was wrong. A thorough topside
check revealed everything in perfect working order. The engine ran fine,
the out drive went up and down and the prop was the correct size and
pitch.
One of the marina guys
jumped in the water to check underneath. He came up choking on water, he
was laughing so hard. Under the boat, still strapped securely in place,
was the trailer.
This is a true story,
folks!

Mo’s Getting Older

An idle mind is….the
best way to relax.
Mo’s Wisdom: Be more
concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character
is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think
you are.
Day 4.

Wisdom: Reading while sunbathing makes you well red.
Mo’s Getting Older

Where there’s smoke
there’s…..pollution.
Mo’s Very Interesting
Word for Today: We use the word “alibi” as a generalized excuse. Where
did this little word originate? Was it from a corruption of an early
court term meaning “to plead ‘Not Guilty?’” Was it from the Latin,
meaning “I did not do this thing?” Or was it from the Latin meaning “I
was elsewhere?”
If you chose the last
choice, you were correct. It is from the Latin, meaning “I was elsewhere.
Day 5.
Mo’s Sort of Skewed
Wisdom: When two egoists meet, it’s an I for an I.
Mo’s Getting Older
Wisdom: Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not Mo. I want
people to know “why” I look like I look. I’ve come a long way…and some of
the roads were not paved.
One of our Colquitt
County First Grade teachers gave each of her students the first half of a
well-known proverb and asked them to come u p with the remainder of the

insight will surprise you!
Happy is the bride
who…gets all the presents.
Mo’s Wisdom: We do not
remember days, but moments. Life is moving too fast…so enjoy your very
own precious moments. |
