The Lanark Scottish
Fiddle orchestra will host a fiddle workshop, COMPETITION and Jam at
the Northeast Florida Highland Games Saturday, Feb. 25th, at the Clay
County Fairgrounds just south of Jacksonville. Elke Baker, National
Scottish Fiddling Champion, and founder-music director for the
Potomac Valley Scottish Fiddle Club and S.F.I.R.E certified Scottish
adjucater will conduct the workshop and judge the competition.
Even though the primary
emphasis will be toward traditional Scottish music, fiddlers of all
traditions are welcome to participate. There will be no fee, except,
entrance to the games.( Elke says to you "old timers," if you don't know
a strathspey, just substitute a good dance tune.) Its about having fun
