Genealogical Society, Inc., on Saturday, October 9, 2004, Faith
Christian School, W5525 Highway 67, Williams Bay, Wisconsin.
Admission is free
for the “October is Family History Month” event held from 9 AM until
3:30 PM.
You will enjoy
eight different programs relating to genealogical subjects.
There is
handicapped parking and the venue is handicapped accessible. You’ll
find plenty of regular parking too.

The Paradise
Valley Chapter of the FHSA presents a seminar on the Civil War on
September 11, 2004 from 1 PM until 4:30 PM at the Chaparral Christian
Church Adult Center, 6451 Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, Arizona.
Programs will
include Civil War Resources by Deanne Shelley and Slave Conspiracy
Approach to the Civil War presented by Ray Carter.

Family Reunions
You’re invited to
attend the Smelkinson Family Circle Picnic on Sunday, August 29, 2004
from 1 PM until…with the Business Meeting at 3 PM. Location is the
Patapsco State Park, Baltimore, Maryland in the Pickall Shelter,
Pavilion 704. You’re invited to bring yourselves, family pictures to
show, stories to tell and a dish to share. The Family Circle will
provide hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and soft drinks.
The twenty-sixth
annual reunion of descendants of Isaac B. and Elizabeath Lovvorn Daniel
will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2004 at 11 AM in the Nutrition
Building at Helton-Howell Park, 1.2 miles east of Tallapoosa, Georgia on
US Highway 78.
You’re asked to
please bring news items of weddings, deaths, births, graduations, to the
reunion. You may also mail your family news items to Jann and David

next family newsletter.
The O’Berry
reunion meets every year on the 3rd Sunday of September at
Dade Battlefield Park in Bushnell, Florida.
The date for 2004
is September 19 in an air conditioned building that also has a gas stove
and oven and toaster oven. There are restrooms and other amenities.
All descendants
of Joseph William O’Berry and his wife, Artie France Durrance (Daughter
of Captain Frances Marion Durrance).
Paper goods are
furnished. Attendees are asked to bring enough food for their family
and friends and some to share. Dinner will be at 1 PM.

Scottish Clan Gatherings, AGMs and
Get-Togethers
The Clan
MacNeacail Society of Scotland International Clan Gathering will be held
on the Isle of Skye at Portree, Scotland 12-16 October 2004.
This is the
once-every-four-years International Clan Gathering. The new Chief, John
MacNeacail of MacNeacail and Scorrybreac will be in attendance this year
with his wife, Jenni, and sons Luke and Adam. There will be the formal
investiture of the new Chief and a memorial unviled to the memory of
John’s father, our late Chief.
You are asked to

two and a half hours by road from Inverness and five or six hours from

The 28th
Annual General Meting of the Clan Ross Association, US will be held in
Charleston, South Carolina on September 17-19, 2004. The Clan Ross will
be the Honoured Clan at the Charleston Highland Games and David Ross of
Ross and Balnagowan, Chief of the Clan Ross and Lady Eileen Ross have
agreed to attend. The Games will be held at Boone Hall Plantation, east
of Charleston in Mount Pleasant!
The host hotel is
Holiday Inn Patriot’s Point, 250 Johnnie Dodds Bovd., Mt. Pleasant, SC.
