Mystery Flower

Mystery Flower

This grows in Beth's backyard...and has been there for 22 years at least.  The house is more than 60 years old...so the flower is "old fashioned"...but nobody knows what it is.

It stays green most of the winter and comes up anew each spring.  Unless smushed by large dogs, it grows tall and has these handsome flowers on the flower spikes.  The inner bits of the flowers have little orchid-like speckles.  It's not hard to grow and can be transplanted...

Does anyone know what this is?

Email Beth here if you know what it is!
