The Clan
Campbell Society (North America) announced its annual awards for
2003 at their 30th Anniversary Annual General Meeting in
Charleston, SC.
Clyde “Bill”
Campbell Region 6 Commissioner (AL, AK, KY, LA, MS and TN) of
Sheffield, AL was awarded the President’s Award for Distinguished
Service for his over 25 years of service and leadership to the Clan
Campbell Society North America. Clyde Bill has been a State
Commissioner, Region Commissioner, Trustee, Vice-President,
President and Region 6 Commissioner again. Clyde Bill was
responsible for expanding the Clan Campbell Society (USA) to the
Clan Campbell Society (North America) to include our Campbell
kinsmen to the north in Canada in the early 1990’s. While at the
2003 AGM, Clyde Bill was elected a Trustee to the Clan Campbell
Education Foundation Board of Directors. “Clyde Bill embodies the
very spirit of the Clan Campbell Society and the best of what it
represents.” said C.C.S.N.A. President Ed Cattell, Jr.
Randy Seale of
Daphne, AL was selected as the Clan Campbell Society (North America)
2003 Clansman of the Year. Randy is Deputy Commissioner for Alabama,
a member of the Finance Committee and the Internet and Technology
Committee. Randy was recognized for his work with Membership
Information Services and Financial Management for the Clan Campbell
Society (North America). “Randy has truly revolutionized the
distribution of data to our Officers, Trustees and Commissioners”,
said C.C.S.N.A. President Edward V. Cattell, Jr. “He invented new
ways to assemble and analyze the information to make it more
understandable and meaningful while pulling and pushing us into the
Information Technology Age.” “Most recently, Randy implemented
Internet voting for the C.C.S.N.A. annual elections, which not only
cut election costs in half, but increased the number of voters by
25%. Randy's work makes our Society's mission of service to our
members possible." Mr. Cattell concluded.
Ann Jackson,
Region 4 Commissioner (NC, SC and GA) of Archdale, NC was awarded
the Vice President’s Commissioner of the Year Award. Ann has been a
State Commissioner and Regional Commissioner. Ann was the first to
become a life member of the Society in 2002. Upon appointment as
Region 4 Commissioner she reorganized the region assuring a constant
Scottish representation throughout the region. Ann is a Dame in the
Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem, and is a
tireless worker who along with her husband Junny founded the Triad
Highland Games. “Ann leads by example and has an infectious attitude
which makes all who come in contact with her want to work and excel
at any given task,” said C.C.S.N.A. Vice President, Walter J.
Campbell.
The Clan
Campbell Society (North America) is both proud and honored to count
