Love's Labour Lost
An Edinburgh school teacher's day was
considerably brightened by receiving one morning the following note from a
pupil's mother :-
'Please do not blame Willie for not doing the
sum about walking from Edinburgh to Glasgow. It would take too long.
The last time you asked about how long it
would take to walk five times from the Castle to Holyrood, his father lost
a morning's work. And after all his walking you went and marked the sum
wrong.'
