The scene is a tramway stop in Aberdeen's
famous Union Street and Mrs Gordon, firmly holding her grandchild by the
hand, is in conversation with the tram conductor.

" Tuppence to Mannofield " she was informed
" An foo much for him ? " she asked again,
with a nod towards the child
" O, it's naethin for the likes o him "
explained the condutor
" Aweill, in that case " came the reply, "
