Book Description
Cameron
McKenzie is a brilliant Edinburgh lad with a great sense of humor and
superior football (soccer, in America) skill. His school mate since
Primary School is Susan Light, a spirited American girl who moved to
Scotland when her father, Dr. James Light, accepted a research post at the
Royal College of Surgeons.
Against
the contemporary Edinburgh skyline, Cameron and Susan discover the time
portal under Dean Street Bridge and travel back in time to rewrite
history. Taking with them futuristic ideas from science and their
culture, they reach out for the magic of Merlin and the inventions of a
helpful alien to restructure the history between England and Scotland.
Along the
way, the come face to face with The Shadow Force, the greed-driven force
that would lose billions if they were to succeed. With the horros of the
Dark Ages along with shape shifting aliens surrounding them, the friends
proceed with creativity and courage.
Their
goal: to heal the 'dead zones' in the oceans and transform four hundred
years of hatred and war into a history of cooperation between two
countries of unequal power.
Their
efforts -- seemingly crazy and hopeless -- remind us to never
underestimate the hearts of children or the heroes they believe in as a
power to transform the world. And sometimes, such heroes only enter
their lives through the pages of a childhood book.
