Lesson
Five - Gestalt
This is a painting I did of
our old home place, now in ruins, as it was when I was a child. The sun
is setting on that era and is shown with a shaft of light shooting
through the middle of it at dusk. The buffalo in the foreground
with the calf at its feet is a registering of the return of the buffalo
to the area via the "Tallgrass Prairie Preserve." The
calf is a promise of new life in a hope that maybe some one of that
branch of the family will pick up on the great sacrifices their
forefathers made for them.
I title the painting,
"Keep a Day Star in Your Heart." This gifted thought I leave
to my heirs. One does not need to possess in order to be blessed with
the work and knowledge our Father gave to us.
Format is the round canvas
to symbolize a going on forever, as family has been shown to do.
Price is not a lofty 300,000
as those of my more gifted peers. Still, I won't let it go for
less than 10,000.
