Nairn

The first person to be recorded as having the name Nairn is Adam de Narryn, chaplain of the altar of the Blessed Virgin at Inverness.

Michael Nairn (1804)-58) from Kirkcaldy, founded the Scottish linoleum industry. His eldest son, Michael Nairn (1838-1915), was created a baronet in 1904.

Nairn is a Royal Burgh in the county of Nairnshire.
