I have questions that you may be able to find the answers
for. When I read the article about the Clan Colquhoun, I noticed that it
said that the Colquhoun of Tillliquhoun were extinct. According to
the information that I have obtained in America. William Colquhoun/Cahoon
was sent as an indentured servant to America after he became a prisoner in
the battle of Dunbar. He was the son of Alexander Colquhoun the 17th of
Colquhoun and 19th of Luss (the younger brother of John Colquhoun BT, who
was exiled to Italy because he ran off with his wife's sister.)
William's older brother John was killed en route to America, but William
lived and had sons. Therefore they should have been the rightful heirs of
the Colquhoun land. William Colquhoun should have been the 18th of
Colquhoun and 20th of Luss and a Baronet of Nova Scotia. If these facts
are true then the direct descendent of this particular clan possibly is
living in America and does not even know his status. Could you please
check this information as it may be quite interesting.
Thank you,
