My father K. Rodney
Allin, whose mother was Heleanor Margaret MacQuarrie (the Scotch in us),
had a life that was full of more adventure than most of us ever dream
of.
He was a wildlife photographer for Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, which
is where a lot of those stories come from. -Including several near death
and meeting pirates.
Rod also filmed for Warren Miller making ski movies for a time, as well
as freelance work.
I finished recently, a book about all the biggest adventures in his
life, that he had started, and was unable to finish before he passed
away from complications of cancer and strokes.
I know any of you that like humor, or outdoor activities will find
something interesting from his life. There are a few excerpts from the
book on my web page if you'd like to see them.
I have to say Rod was an extraordinary man. Not because he was my father
(which was enough for me), but all the extra things he did, and the kind
of person he was. (Not to mention being Scotch as well :D!)
You can't help but be inspired one way or another into really living
your life after reading this.
