Ian MacIntyre, 17th Chief of the MacIntyres of Camus na h Erie

My father's name was Alastair MacIntyre and it was he who petitioned the Lord Lyon in 1955 for the Chieftainship of the Clan MacIntyre.  This claim was based on documents contained in an old writing chest bearing the name Glenoe and certain artefacts with Glenoe engraved on them.  Unfortunately the case could not be genealogically proven but he was granted arms as the 16th Chief of the MacIntyres of Camus na h Erie(sic).  Subsequently the Chief of Glenoe was found in America and Martin MacIntyre's great work on the subject is on your website.

I visited this site last month and took the enclosed photographs which you may care to put in the MacIntyre entry especially with your own family connection.

With best regards,

Ian MacIntyre, 17th Chief of the MacIntyres of Camus na h Erie.

Our thanks to Ian Macintyre for sending this into us
