I found quite by chance a book about the
surname French in Scotland and so thought I'd add it to the site for
research purposes. The book is entitled "Notes on the surnames of Francus,
Farnceis, French, etc. in Scotland, with an account of the Frenches of
Thorndykes" (1893)
