A
flower, are ye of yer heed,
it’s naw but a muckle weed
even a coo kens never tae bide
anywhar near a thistle tribe
Sometimes attitude as if on a bevy
then proud and tall for Royal Levy
places they’ve never been afore
let them in and they tak oer
It’s prickly-proud so they say
stubborn, in that Scottish way.
when weathers wild and ithers hide
it’s still braw, a great thing of pride
It’s bonnie, but no too fancy
like oorselves a wee bit sonsie
