Teenie flits from room to room
to make sure kids are sleeping
she tugs and shakes the blankets
and watches you for peeking

Then she bounces on your bed
just like a jumping bean
all the while watching you
to see if she’s been seen

If you are still sleeping
Teenie tries another ploy
she jumps up on the shelf
and moves your favorite toy

Now Teenie tries so hard
she whispers in your ear
monsters, ghosts, dragons
the things that kids all fear

You passed Dream Teenie’s test
now it’s time for you to rest
as she slips down from your bed
dream dust floats about your head
