Harold Crowe wed Phoebe McLachlan @ Paddington NSW in 1933
The moonlight shines on a midnight
pond
When freedom rides I must respond.
I cannot hold back my feelings anymore
When Granddad died it shook me to my core.
I might have been wrong long ago
But I'll be right by tomorrow.
Tomorrow never comes so they say
Like an Antarctic dolphin in an Aussie bay.
Harold Crowe @ Wooloomooloo docks Sydney
harbour in 1934
Here I'm sitting back ... thinking
of times.
My memories will soon be put into rhymes.
Once a rebel I was & thought always would be.
Independence was what I wanted & for you to see.
I got the news more than two years
late
Of the passing of somebody truly great.
I have many regrets now that I'm more mature,
But my biggest regret is .. one great man fewer.
Harold Crowe on holiday @ Katoomba in Blue
Mountains west of Sydney NSW - Christmas 1964
I only wish to have seen him just
one more time
And hear his words of wisdom like church bell chime.
He was a God-loving man. ... Bless his soul!
He'll be all right in Heav'n, like a newborn foal.
