The pound is being maintained at an artificially high
level to maintain London as a financial centre. The price for this policy
is being paid by the manufacturing industry and, therefore, particularly
Scotland which, unlike England, receives no compensating advantages.

The moneylender lends money which belongs to him. The banker lends money
