From Stan Bruce we have...
There
is a monument sited about 1 mile upstream of the river Don from
Dyce, Aberdeen and I believe it's called the 'Liddell Monument',
however I've no information on it and wondered if you could put
out a request in the next newsletter to see if anyone out there
knows anything about it.

From Bonnie Brezette
we have...
I have a Spoon that
no one can identify. My GGGG grand Mother (she was a Mitchell) sent
it to the U.S. around 1800. It is an amazing piece of work. That I
know of it has been in my family for 400 years. I have taken it to 2
Universities, they were mystified and have tried to get some one
from many museums to reply but it must just get lost on someones
desk top.
I took it to the
Scottish Festivel here in Saltlake City and everyone that viewed it
was awstruck. The language in it appears to be old gaelic latin?,
and 3 other languages, which are thought to be extinct. It appears
to have been made in the medieval times. It is 7.5 inches in length,
silver and very ornate.
Writing on the spoon
appears to be SUP HEPT BRENNETIHR CKE.
Should you be able to help with
identifying this sppon please email
Bonnie
and if
you can copy me into it would appreciate it :-) |
