One package (2 pounds) baby lima beans
salt
1/2 pound ground chuck
2 medium onions sliced
1 to 1 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 can (6 0z) stewed tomatoes
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup catsup
1/2 cup grated cheese
Rinse beans, drain, cook 5 cups cold
water, soak overnight. Refrigerated.
Turn beans into 4 quart kettle, add 1
teaspoons salt. Cook 45 minutes or until done. In large heavy skillet,
sauté meat until brown. Add onions, chili powder, cook about five
minutes. Add to beans with other ingredients. Simmer slowly, covered
about 20 minutes. |
