"The word today to learn," my
child, "is violence."
"Do you know anything at all about this word?"
"Has anyone used it from yesterday since?"
"Is this something you know or have heard."
"No, Gramma," came the honest reply.
The little one was quick to listen.
"Look behind you at the television on high,
See Tom against Jerry to defend."
"It is the way of things, you know."
"We live in a world passed down from old,
Hard learned civilization to grow,
Lovely fruit of clean, beautiful joys untold."
"In a heart beat it is all taken away,
Children taught violence every side,
From television, adult example, even play,
Violence over and through our lives ride."
Do you now have a clue as to how violence lures?
"Yes Gramma, I think I do.
"It's when all the kids are scared of monsters."
"Yes, my child, I think you understand, you do." |
